Spleen is an important organ in the busy and serve important function as an immune organ. It also fight certain infection. Without spleen a person can be vulnerable to infections and has to take some precaution.

Splenic surgery may be required in some elective situations when there is a cyst or a haemangioma in the spleen. We offer Laparoscopic Partial/ Segmental Splenectomy where healthy part of the spleen is preserved.

In trauma situations when spleen is ruptured we use spleen preserving strategies and in in most cases manage to avoid taking the spleen out. A careful and methodical approach with in-depth knowledge of spleen embryology and anatomy, great experience and technical skills are required in such situations.
