My love for this genius started in 1995 when I attended his week long course in Advanced Laparoscopic surgery in Dundee. A thinking philosopher and a craftsman; Sir Cuscheri is a unique surgeon with great skills. He has been the pioneer in many aspects of modern Laparoscopic surgery and new concepts.

We came across many times over the years and my respect for him has grown over the years; he has moved from beautiful but cold Dundee to the warmth of Pisa, Italy after his clinical retirement, however he remains a formidable force in the teaching and innovation world of laparoscopic surgery as a rightful resident of Galileo’s city.
